报告摘要：Connections are ubiquitous in hydrology, with the hydrologic cycle serving as the best example. Unraveling the nature and extent of connections in hydrologic systems, as well as their interactions with other Earth systems (climatic, geomorphic, ecologic, environmental), has always been a fundamental challenge in hydrology. In this regard, studies on the applications of ideas gained from modern developments in network theory, especially complex networks, are just starting to emerge. It has also been argued that the theory of networks can offer a generic theory for studying all types of connections in hydrology. The purpose of this talk is to review some basic concepts of complex networks and their relevance and applications in hydrology. The concepts reviewed include degree centrality, clustering coefficient, and degree distribution. The talk also includes applications and their implications of the results for hydrology and water resources, especially from the perspectives of a general theory and modeling framework, are also discussed.
