报告题目:Title: Multi-disciplinary Water Resources Assessment and Management 报告人:Dr Jorge Luis Peria Arancibia 报告时间:2019年10月22日 10:00 – 11:40 报告地点:地理资源所A0901会议室 Dr Jorge Luis Peria Arancibia, Senior Research Scientist Dr Jorge Peria Arancibia is a senior research scientist in CSIRO Land and Water, Water Program. His research focuses on quantifying current irrigation water use through satellite-derived evapotranspiration estimates and hydrological models, analysing past and future climatic and biophysical time-series to understand drivers of hydrological change, and implications for water, food and energy security. He is involved in several international projects (Bangladesh, Peru, Chile, and Pakistan) and contributes to the development of tools to quantify the water at a policy-relevant scale. The Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Land and Water research Abstract The CSIRO is the pre-eminent public research agency of the Australian Government and recognised as global top 10 applied research agency. CSIRO brings significant experience in working in large multi-disciplinary water assessment and planning projects both within Australia and internationally (e.g. China, India, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, and Peru). This talk presents an overview of CSIRO’s profile and China engagement, followed by vignettes of CSIRO’s Land and Water latest research and development in integrated water management including: (i) streamflow forecasting for planning and management, (ii) scenario assessment for the development of large irrigation schemes in northern Australia, and (iii) groundwater depletion and its causes in one of the world food bowls. 陆地水循环及地表过程院重点实验室 |
